DARIAN proudly supports talent, dreams and mountain performance. DARIAN’s involvement in various projects of mountain climbing became normality and people supported by us in expeditions are great friends.

One of this mountain performance team is made-up of Vlad Căpușan and Zsolt Torok, leading Romanian climbers who, in the last weeks fought with themselves, with the mountain and the force of nature. Face to face with their dream, the southern peak of Pumo Ri from Nepal these started their ascension with only one thought: to conquer the 7.160 meters of the mountain. A dream that continued up to the 6.8000 meters escalated in extreme conditions, due to courage, urge to be a winner and testing the surviving limit at every step.

Withdrawal before the last 360 meters was urgently needed, decision taken after full days of effective fight for survival and advance on the territory of the “guarded” mountain, well, this time by a magnificent force of nature. A harsh fight, with the mountain, of survival where the forces of nature erupted: wind, avalanches, cold and snow, all defied to obtain a trophy: the Southern face of the Pumo Ri mountain.

“We gave everyting we could, but Pumo Ri rejected us this time. But we will come back, because the 7.160 m will not rise, but we will grow and will have a second chance” said Zsolt upon his return from the camp.

It seems a scenario of an action movie, but for Vlad and Zsolt is just reality. A reality that, for those watching them, those that expect excited news from the expeditions or with new performances is somehow unreachable.

We, everybody else can just try to live emotionally a facet from the entire range of feelings of these people, without making any physical or mental effort. It is really amazing what they do and their effort can just be applauded to the open scene and permanently supported.

DARIAN is close to this team now and will continue to support it in the future. The DARIAN team wants to be close to them also in the moment when Vlad and Zsolt reach the peak of the mountain and will conquer the clouds on the Pumo Ri crest.
