On June 24 – 25, 2018, the General Assembly of the most prestigious global organizations, the pillar of valuation occupation, IVSC (International Standard Valuation Council) and WAVO (World Association of Valuation Organisations) took place in Singapore.

After a difficult period of discussions and harmonization, in November 2016 at Daegu, South Korea, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two world associations – which stand as the base for a consistent development and a recognition of the valuation profession amongst the financial industry business.

The International Valuation Standard Council (IVSC) is recognized as the publisher of professional standards and the WAVO (World Association of Valuation Organisations) has, as its objectives, promoting these among the valuators’ organizations and also the training process.

The prestigious event has enjoyed a wide international participation, being opened by Sir David Tweedie, President of IVSC and Prof. Dr. Lim Lan Yuan, President of WAVO, in the presence of the Singapore Minister of Infrastructure and Environment, Dr. Amy Khor.

The conference marks the beginning of a perspective project which will periodically reunite in various locations from all continents, important personalities and leaders of the relevant professional organizations of the valuators.

Romania, through the professional association ANEVAR – founding member of WAVO – had and still has a significant contribution in promoting this profession and it is recognized by all major professional organizations.

Also, Mr. Adrian Crivii, President of ANEVAR between 2001- 2003, is an “in personam” member of the Executive Committee and the Vice President of WAVO.

WAVO honored for the second time (first time was in 2008) the invitation of ANEVAR to organize the 9th Congress in Bucharest on September 6 – 9, 2018 – main topic being “Ethics in the Valuation profession”.
